February | 2016

“Dear old world', she murmured, 'you are very lovely, and I am glad to be alive in you.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Oh, Anne - I mean, Lucy - I couldn't have said it better.

There is so much heartache and brokenness out there, but for now, in my corner, we are happy and growing and in love with living.

I have more big news to share in the next couple of months (not pregnant! That discussion has been tabled til Christmas...) and I'm daydreaming and creating on overdrive to make it happen.
A new movement is coming :)

Here's a little glimpse into our tiny world from February...

coffee + dreaming
Rifle Paper Co. does it again. Completely adore their designs and colors. So cheery!
Find this set here.

be brave. be messy.
Sifted through my old books and selected a couple perfect ones for my former protégés.
Hope you like them, girls!

Also in the realm of making new art, I turned another calendar page into a framed print!

a joyful win
As you might know, while I don't collect much anymore, I am slowly acquiring antique versions of the Anne of Green Gables series and I scored these two gorgeous and perfect copies on ebay the night before Valentine's Day. Eeek! They are just. So. Good! When I need a soul re-set, I turn to miss Lucy for some wholesome stories and spectacular vernacular. I always feel clean and light and fresh after an escapade in her pages. Love that Anne-girl.

Other good reads?

And yes, it really is magical. Read it!

The reality of trying to stage a photo with a toddler.
Love his "gotcha!" face!
Speaking of Milo faces...

Milo the Kid
This little boy is getting so big and daring. SLOW DOWN, son.
(see post here)

my preciousssssss
This lovely new piece of glass came to live with us. !!!!
Still drooling.

ANTHRO love
So excited to get the latest Anthropologie mailer. Those colors, those textures, those finishes! Every page is a feast for the eyes. I've already finished it, but it will continue to sit out because my heart fairly bursts with joy every time I see it :)

my boys
These two loves of mine.

bean bounty
Of course Valentine's Day included a run to our favorite coffee bean supplier, A Hill of Beans.
JD buys his green and roasts them himself. He also bought me a half pound of Campfire Dreams - notes of toasted marshmallow, graham cracker and chocolate! - and it is officially my favorite of all time. The Highland Grog is good, but not as good as the other. Bring your own jars and they'll fill them for you!

merienda

notes
A little love the old-fashioned way.
Handwriting and stationary are some of those simple pleasures in life that are a treat to craft and a gift to receive. And those stamps are just gorgeous.

just Alice
Our little girl being herself.

hula hoop ballet birthday extravaganza!
Because how could you not?
Thank you, Mila, for inviting us :)

Valentine's Day Date
After gathering coffee beans and eating steak at Taxi's, we drove down to the Old Market for a nightcap of Fish Fry ice cream at Ted & Wally's (the greatest ice cream parlor in the world). And the cranes they had strung up!!! Oh my, there had to have been thousands of them decorating the place.
Thank you, Aunt Lynnie, for watching the kiddos so we could go out!

"I wool always love ewe."
My card to JD :)

mmmmmmmm
Alice the Fairy enjoying a Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cake Ball at our favorite haunt, the Starbucks of 87th & Pacific.
And yes, we let her dress up whenever she wants. Childhood is short!

So eat as many donuts as you can...right?

weekday treat
JD stayed home from work Thursday morning so we packed up and visited our favorite crew at the local bakery, Jim & Connie's, where they know Alice and Milo by name. Fried cinnamon dipped in chocolate and sprinkles? Yes, please!

The Chef
"Just whipping up something yummy for ya, Mama."

We've accumulated a few accessories...;)

Just Alice

Plaid tweed shorts, heart adorned leggings, stripey Tuesday socks, and floral kitty ears.
