Milo the Kid

The other day, our friend and neighbor Miss Beka was over to visit, and we just had to take a few photos of the littles...simply because they're cute :)

It wasn't until I looked at the screen to review a few for adjustment purposes that I had a scary realization:

Milo is a kid. Not a baby anymore - a kid. A mischievous, capable, growing kid.

When did this happen?????!

Oh, Milo. My sweet, ornery, ginger boy with the softest belly and the need for speed - slow down, okay?

Alice + Mama | A Coffee Date

We celebrated not one, not two, but three birthday parties last weekend! Whew!!!

After a whirlwind of balloon light-sabers, piñata-whacking, ballet hula hooping, and an onslaught of confectionery delights with friends new and old, Alice and I decided to take a break at our favorite watering hole - the Starbucks of 87th and Pacific. (Comfy leather chairs and a cozy ambiance make this our go-to family coffee destination.)

Our tiny dancer colored in her Hello Kitty activity book and ordered her very own blueberry muffin with a $2 bill from her envelope of Cookie Money that Papa Bear surprises her with every so often, and I settled down with a Smoked Butterscotch Latte and my new treasure trove of a book, Design Mom (such a practical and inspirational read! Seriously, go buy it!!) Took the Sigma 35mm Art for a spin - that crisp focus has me swooning - and documented our little tête-à-tête of fun, Mother-Daughter style.

Lady Alice & the Magnifying Glass

Alice had on the cutest outfit the other day...so naturally we had to do a mini shoot :)

(It's rough being the children - and spouse - of a photographer. My camera is an extra appendage, but to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way.)

With magnifying glass in hand and kitty ears perched on her flaxen head, Lady Alice sat on her tuffet and gave me one minute of her famous faces.

Flippers + Feathers + Fur

We enjoyed another fine field trip to our favorite zoo at the generous invitation of our dear friend, Angela. We each had a well-matched playmate - the mommy duo, Alice & Aaron, and Milo & Ethan.

(Do you ever feel like your play dates are more about the mommies getting to play than the kids? Story of my life!)

It was Friday, 54° and sunny, and full of friends - including those furry, finned, and feathered.

Alice and Aaron hugged and held hands all day! It was so cute to see them be friends.
